To be honest i was contemplating if to write or not, But here i am writing..

This my first year in review but we learn by trying and i have decided to try it out, this is also my first article ever on hashnode.

So i will just write this as if i am writing on my diary.

I remember telling my friend that ASUU will go on strike, he was like it is a lie.. It can't happen. It came to pass and ASUU went on strike, while still on the strike.. Covid-19 came and to be honest i was enjoying the break, i can't imagine combining school and coding together, looking at how Nigeria's educational system is time demanding and very stressful. I remember going to submit an assignment by 6am (smiles)..

Fast-Forward a little bit

i joined start.ng a beginner friendly developer training, it was a very nice training because it helped me solidifying my python skills, i was able to publish a Command line game. I finished as a finalist

I also joined HNG internship senior brother of startng very intensive, the heart attack one can get on sundays is one words can't describe easily.. out 11k+ that started we were 200+ that finished. Damn it wasn't easy but i scaled as a finalist

Major wins

• Got gifted a laptop
• Got myself a new phone.
• Introduced and taught people how to code
• Got my first freelance gig and got paid to code
• Explored Devops and got paid to setup some servers
• Made a lot of friends(Geektutor, LordGhostx, Mastersam, Adesina, Deborah, some many others..)
• Finalist hng internship(first attempt 🙈🤩)
• I became active in communities(DSCFutminna, Qdevs, Gophers, e.t.c)
• Got a little bit closer to God, but i will be very serious with him 2021
• I switched jobs

i was also able to impact those within my circle with the little i can give.

I didn't know i have so much wins, and i was thinking i didn't achieve anything..

Goals for 2021

• 🗣 Get very close to God
• 🗣 Stick to and gain mastery of Go i.e golang(yeah, i switched from python to golang). will write an article on why i switched
• 🗣 Impact and invest in people(that is the best investment to be honest)
• 🗣 Start writing technical articles

BIg shoutout to Alemsbaja my go to person for any issue, his guidiance has impacted who i am and who i want to become, Adesina my golang mentor always there to support to me and help me out, mastersam, geektutor and lordghostx always motivating me to push harder indirectly, Qdevs (group chat) my go to place when i want to relax and chillout, Hng i7 folks(the knowledge gotten, football bants, another big family i love), Debby and dharmie my go to person i can tell anything to.

Wow writing is fun, and i have been postponing it. I will definitely be writing more on golang... yeah that is all 👋 👋
